Press is a work of compositions produced through the repeated motif of the iron placed onto the thermal surface of fax machine paper. Echoing dada interests in chance composition and what Marcel Duchamp called the infra-thin (which included the trace of warmth left on a recently vacated chair), Levy's interest in the poetics of everyday objects puts to work a seemingly redundant technology to new ends.
