project: flatpack

Self-assembly furniture; zipped files; flexible work contracts: main hustles and side hustles; the present is continuously expanding and contracting,  with the logic of the flatpack.

Flatpack is an ongoing project begun in October 2024. It will develop over a period of several months.

A-FL's Rock Paper Scissors offers a linguistic sleight of hand. In response to the classic game of gestures, usually associated with anticipation and second-guessing, he provides a surprise which deflates the game's competition.

Assemblage of Shadows, 2024

Naomi Harwin's Assemblage of Shadows takes a fleeting, momentary observation and gives its a prominent place to be looked at, reconfigured, or disassembled.

Happy Face, 2024

Kate Terry's Happy Face  gives an invite array of possibilities to the viewer, but playfully draws us towards producing and recognising human faces in the forms created.

To Unfold, 2024

Claire Undy's multiple is a double-sided work on paper, which can be opened and stood in a variety of configurations. It shows the artist stretching and becoming contorted, juggling everyday life. The image cannot be laid flat, except when it is folded down into its smallest configuration as a square.

Using cast and painted letterforms, Leo Fitzmaurice's sculptures present words organised as small scale vertical stacked sculptures, as  language made matter. Produced as individual works in small groups or gangs using the same letters, each work produces and thwarts a chain of communication and information.
