Alastair Levy's sunset_pipe is a work which observes the lesser thought surfaces and hidden volumes of interior space, showing a condensation-covered window looking out, overlapping with hidden fixtures (pipe structures from domestic plumbing), in a kind of domestic sublime which expands our perception of everyday architecture and the space of the room. Printed onto Moisture-Resistant MDF that is usually put to work in areas of the home - the bathroom or kitchen which steams up and trap heat and moisture - sunset_pipe uses photographic imagery and new printing technology to reflect on our relationship to space.
